What each cookie does

ign Remembers the in-game name you last voted with, so you do not retype it on every server, and so a vote reminder can be switched on in one tap. It is the name you already publish by voting. 1 year Essential
anon A random id that lets you keep saved searches without an account. It is not linked to any other data. 1 year Essential
fav Your favourited servers while you are not signed in. Holds server ids only, and moves onto your account if you register. 1 year Essential
ownsteps Which "next step" suggestions a listing owner chose to hide on their own server page. Holds server ids and step names only, and is only set when you press the close button. 2 weeks Essential
swipe_id / swipe_q The "Find my server" deck: a random id so the same server is not shown twice, and the filters you last swiped with. 180 days Essential
carousel Whether you collapsed the featured-server carousel on the front page, so it stays the way you left it. 7 days Essential
lastGame The game you last browsed or voted for, so the site opens on that list instead of asking again. 1 year Essential
oauth_n A one-off random value used while you sign in with Google or Discord, to prove the reply came back from the same sign-in you started. Deleted the moment the sign-in finishes. 10 to 20 minutes Essential
steam_vote Set only when you press "Sign in with Steam" on a vote page. A random token that ties Steam's reply to this browser and then tells us which SteamID your vote is for. It does not sign you in to an account here. 6 hours Essential
steam_login Set only when you press "Continue with Steam" to log in or to connect Steam in Account settings. A random token that ties Steam's reply to this browser, so nobody else can finish the sign-in you started. Deleted when the sign-in finishes. 10 to 20 minutes Essential
ref Set only if you arrived through somebody's referral link. Holds their referral code so the person who pointed you here gets credited if you sign up and list a server. It is not used to build a profile of you and it is never shared. 30 days Optional
add_pending Set if you start adding a server before signing in. Holds a random token pointing at the draft we saved, so the form still has your answers when you come back or finish signing in. It holds nothing about you. 2 hours Essential
add_restored A one-off note, set when a draft you left behind is handed back to your new account, so the page can tell you it was restored. Deleted as soon as that message is shown. 1 hour, or until the message is shown Essential
adm_outreach Only set for site administrators, by a staff filter on the server list. It remembers which servers the list should hide, so the choice stays the same from page to page. Other visitors never get it. 90 days Essential
Tebex checkout cookies Set by Tebex only if you start a payment for a premium listing, to keep your basket and prevent payment fraud. No Tebex cookie is set until you open a checkout. Set by Tebex, typically the session up to 1 year Optional
